Gaynstead, Norman Manley dominating rivals in Insport netball

GAYNSTEAD HIGH and Norman Manley High have both been in fantastic form in the Insports Challenge 2026 netball competition in Zone One, where the winners are expected to walk away with $400,000.

Both teams have been dominant in their matches so far, with the top two in each zone advancing to next Friday’s semi-finals of the competition. Gaynstead, the defending ISSA urban schoolgirls under-19 champions, blew away Ardenne High 57-6 in their opening game before returning to score a 31-22 victory over Camperdown High.

Norman Manley have also been impressive. They crushed rivals Merl Grove High 52-9 before defeating Vauxhall High 51-19.

In other recently played matches, Camperdown got by Merl Grove 33-21, while Vauxhall High and Ardenne played to a 21-21 tie.

In Zone Two, which comprises the rural teams, Denbigh High and Jose Marti High remain unbeaten and are both looking likely to advance to the semi-finals. In a top-of-the-table clash at G.C. Foster College, the teams battled to an exciting 23-23 draw.

In other matches, May Day High got the better of Bishop Gibson High 35-29, while Mile Gully High defeated Dinthill Technical 30-14.

Today will see the penultimate set of preliminary-round matches in both zones. In the Corporate Area, the Leila Robinson Court will host Norman Manley against Camperdown, Gaynstead versus Vauxhall, and Ardenne versus Merle Grove. All matches are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

In Zone Two, Denbigh will host Mile Gully at 1 p.m., before Dinthill face Bishop Gibson at 2 p.m. In the other game, May Day High will take on Jose Marti at G.C. Foster College, also starting at 2 p.m.
