Church brother trying to seduce me
Dear Pastor,
I am writing to you for the first time. I am in my 60s. I read your column often, and your radio programme keeps my company.
I am a widow. I have many friends and we talk all the time on the phone, but when it is time for your programme, we say bye-bye to each other until the following day. I like the topics that you discuss. I have two children, but they are not living with me. They are on their own. I am very comfortable. I have everything that I need. My children talk to me every day.
There is a brother in my church who has been trying his best to get at me, but I told him that I am not interested in any man. My days for that are over. He said his days are not over. I told him he should look somewhere else. I am only writing to congratulate you on the good work you are doing.
I was a teacher, but I gave up that work and now I am just enjoying my retirement. I love gardening. Keep up the good work, Pastor.
C.T.
Dear C.T.,
I am glad that you read the column and that you also listen to my radio show. You are enjoying retirement, so don't allow any man to destroy your peace.
You are doing the correct thing. You are having good fellowship with your friends. A wise senior citizen should keep good friends because you do not know when you are going to need their help. You should always be in touch with relatives; one will always need relatives. Make sure that you go to the doctor for your regular check-ups, and follow your doctor's advice.
I should not forget to tell you to read your Bible and pray. Talk to the good Lord every day. I thank you for writing, and please continue to listen to my show and reading my column. I wish you well.
Pastor
