It's semifinal day in the 2025 ISSA daCosta Cup.

In a Sabina Park doubeheader Glenmuir High will face Dinthill Technical at 2 p.m. in a clash of two former champions before St Elizabeth Technical, also past winners of the competition, oppose this year's surprise team Kemps Hill High, a school seeking to reach the final for the first time.

The 4:15 feature should be very intense. STETHS whipped Kemps Hill 4-0 in the round-of-16 clash that ended in chaos. Tempers flared and Kemps Hill's two key players, including influential goalkeeper and captain Omari Chambers, were shown red cards.

Both teams advanced to to the quarterfinals STETHS won once and drew the other two matches while Kemps Hill were clipped 3-2 by Glenmuir but had impressive wins against Cornwall College and McGrath High. STETHS' best result in the quarterfinals was a 4-0 drubbing of Christiana High.

Goalkeepers Johnoi Steadman of St Elizabeth Technical and Kemps Hill's Chambers are expected to play crucial roles in today's game and both are united by one mission - win at all cost.

With 13 clean sheets this season, Steadman told STAR Sports the team needs to remain focused.

"It will be an intense game. We are not worried about our last encounter with our opponents. The aim today is to put it all out there and win," said Steadman, who started playing daCosta Cup football at age 14.

"We have to just keep our composure because the game won't be easy but we are ready for the challenge," he added.

For the giant killers Kemps Hill reaching the semifinals is a big first for the school and aim is to create more history by going further.

STETHS, meanwhile, a return to the semifinals is familiar territory.

Having one of the best seasons in decades, STETHS are the only unbeaten team. Last season, STETHS missed out on a place in the daCosta Cup semifinals after a 5-2 defeat to Glenmuir High.

Kemps Hill have performed well under pressure this season and will be no pushovers.

The 17-year-old Chambers, who is on eight clean sheets for the season said the team's aim is to remain disciplined.

"We have to just keep control of the game and not get carried away. Having composure today is key because we are excited to be here," said Chambers.

"We want to lift the trophy for the first time and make our fans and families proud," Chambers added, noting he has been a goalkeeper in the daCosta Cup since he was 12 years old.
