Another policeman has found himself in trouble with the law, the latest being a a police constable attached to the Westmoreland Division.

The name of the cop was not released up to press time. The Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said he has been detained on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Firearms Act.

The 31-year old cop and another man were arrested after investigators seized a total of 85 assorted rounds of ammunition, along with a motor vehicle, multiple mobile phones, and a sum of cash.

Police Inspector Martin Walker, an inspector attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC), was arrested and charged in connection with a multimillion-dollar cocaine seizure.

Senior Superintendent of Police Wayne Cameron, the chairman of the Police Officers' Association, has been charged with multiple counts of fraudulent conversion and larceny as a servant following a probe into the handling of funds under his leadership.

The JCF, in a statement, says it takes a "zero-tolerance approach to criminal activity, particularly where it involves members of the organisation".

"The force remains resolute in its commitment to upholding integrity, accountability, and public trust, and assures the public that any member found to be acting outside the law will be dealt with firmly and transparently," the JCF said.
