Man charged with killing British national
Gary Ferguson, 53, otherwise called 'Peter,' of Great Pond, Ocho Rios, St Ann, has been arrested and charged with the murder of a British national in Retreat Heights in Falmouth, Trelawny on June 26.
The deceased has been identified as 61-year-old Simon Blanchard, retired engineer. Reports from the Falmouth police are that at 5:10 a.m., Blanchard was at home when he heard a disturbance and went to investigate. While he was at his gate, he was attacked by Ferguson and three other men who were breaking into his neighbour's house. Blanchard was stabbed several times. The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Blanchard's lifeless body was seen. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following intense investigation, it was revealed that Ferguson's fingerprints were found on the scene along with other circumstantial evidence; he was subsequently arrested and charged. His court date is being finalised.
