Gun attack and suspected suicide rock Above Rocks, St Catherine

The police are digging into two linked crime scenes in Above Rocks St Catherine after a man was shot and injured and the suspect later turned up dead in what investigators believe is a suicide.

Reports are that shortly before 2:00 p.m. a verbal dispute between two men escalated into a fight and loud explosions were heard. One man was later found suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital and his injuries are not considered life threatening.

The suspect in the shooting a man known as 'Sterling' was reportedly found dead soon after. The police stumbled upon his body when they went searching for him.

The St Catherine North police are now piecing together clues from both scenes. The division with 57 murders so far this year remains one of the most violent in the country.
