Charly Black assists young talent

Billboard-charting recording artiste Charly Black, who recently launched his own record label, Multi Talented Music, is currently working with up-and-coming artistes Shudly and Tonii Munroe.

Shudly is promoting his record Rocky Road, while Tonii Munroe has been receiving favourable attention for I Can't Breathe.

Both records were produced by Multi Talented, but I Can't Breathe also features work from Natel Music.

"We have been executing a steady promotional campaign for both acts, and so far, we have been getting support on the radio. The songs are also getting traction in Europe, and that is a good look, considering these are our first two acts from the label. There are other artistes which we will be pushing out, but these are our first two," said Crawba, a member of Charly Black's management team.

Crawba said that Charly Black, who received international success with Gyal You A Party Animal last year, is excited about helping others.

"Charly understands very well what it is like to be a talent searching for a break, so he is more than happy to help others. Sometimes people feel like enough is not being done, but you have to create the opportunities and break down barriers first. Then, once you accomplish that, then you can bring other artistes into the spotlight and share it," he said.

Crawba also said the music industry needs new faces to evolve. He warned artistes against ignoring the business part of the music industry.

"That is why some of unno bruck when unno old, because unno never help others. You cannot be relevant forever. So, you need to expose new acts under your wings so that their family, the music and you can benefit in the long run. For too long they have been using the excuse that artistes ungrateful ... some man just a use that because they don't want to break bread," he said.
